Retail traders got sold a story in 2023 that any AI model could pick stocks. YouTube filled up with affiliate links and "hedge fund killer" thumbnails. Every review site quietly took a check to move a tool to #1.
We got tired of it. FullStack Alpha started as a private spreadsheet: three traders, one columns-and-rows grading rubric, and a shared brokerage account we used to actually execute the signals from every AI stock picker we could find. When the data started to disagree with the paid rankings elsewhere, we published it.
"If we can't survive a live account with the vendor's own default settings, the review doesn't ship. Full stop."
Today the operation is bigger — more capital, more tickers, more asset classes — but the standard hasn't moved. Every tool in our directory has been tested against a real benchmark by someone who trades with their own money.
